Help Conserve 2 Million Acres in the Next Decade
Ways to Support Colorado Conservation
Results from a recent CCT survey of communities and conservation organizations across Colorado show that more than 2,000,000 acres are identified for conservation in our state over the next 10 years. Only a fraction of these acres will be preserved if the pace of conservation remains unchanged.
The time is now. Colorado’s population is growing at twice the national average. Stunning landscapes in our mountain valleys are now vacation homes. Productive farms and ranches throughout the Front Range and West Slope have been chopped into 35-acre ranchettes. If conservation efforts continue at the current pace, we will lose 1,000,000 acres of land in the next 10 years.
CCT was established to increase the funding, pace and effectiveness of land conservation before the natural beauty of Colorado is lost.
CCT is unique. We collaborate with all conservation groups in Colorado to ensure that land is preserved for future generations. We work directly with local communities to create buffers against sprawl and protect critical wildlife habitat, scenic vistas, healthy river corridors, and working farms and ranches.
We increase the dollars available for conservation by working one-on-one with philanthropists. We help donors explore different opportunities and identify projects that meet their goals. By combining resources from many donors, we are able to design highly leveraged funding opportunities – a donor’s gift can stimulate investments that are 5 to 10 times the size of the original gift and accomplish larger conservation goals than the donor could achieve on his own.
Since its founding, CCT has invested more than 95% of donations directly into conservation projects, giving donors the confidence that their funds are used effectively and efficiently.
These lands are our heritage. We can protect them with your help. Let’s get going.
