CCT Programs & Accomplishments
Accomplishments
Since its founding in 2000, CCT has contributed to the protection of more than 30,000 acres of the Colorado you know and love. We have raised nearly $10 million from more than 30 foundations and 300 individuals. Most of these dollars have been reinvested in 25 conservation projects in eight regions of Colorado. Matched with more than $24 million in other public and private dollars, these funds have been invested in a broad range of projects including real estate, public policy analysis, organizational capacity building, and land stewardship. In Eagle County, for example, CCT helped complete protection of the 4,800 acre Bair Ranch, a $5.2 million project at the mouth of Glenwood Canyon. In Gunnison County, C CT assisted the local conservation group in protecting 1,000 acres and provided funds to strengthen the group’s ability to raise donations from wealthy second homeowners. The remaining funds that CCT has raised will be allocated to additional high-priority projects that are being identified by CCT board and staff.
Additional notable achievements include:
- Invested over 95% of funds raised in land conservation programs and projects since its founding. CCT is one of the few non-profit organizations in the country that has been able to achieve and maintain this level of programmatic investment.
- Established CCT as one of the largest private funders of land conservation in the state.
- Awarded more than $1.5 million in grant packages for land conservation projects across the state.
- Assisted in building the infrastructure of nine organizations through its capacity building grants program.
- Provided funding to three Colorado communities to help develop local revenue streams for open space.
- Led a statewide campaign to secure $115 million in conservation bonding authority
- Established one of the state’s first fellowship program for recent grad school graduates.
